Ladew Topiary Gardens is a celebrated 22-acre historic estate nestled in the Maryland countryside just north of Baltimore. Founded and designed by Harvey S. Ladew, the gardens feature over 100 intricate topiary sculptures set within a series of enchanting « garden rooms, » each offering a distinct character and seasonal beauty. The iconic Hunt Scene greets visitors at the entrance, capturing one of Mr. Ladew’s greatest passions, fox hunting. A winding path leads guests through the garden rooms to the breathtaking Great Bowl at the heart of the grounds. A mile-long Nature Walk invites deeper exploration of the unspoiled landscape, while the native Butterfly House offers an up-close look at the life cycle of local butterflies and moths. The historic Manor House, filled with antiques and treasures from Ladew’s worldly travels, stands as a living testament to his artistry and spirit.
